Sexual Compulsives Anonymous

Sexual Compulsives Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from sexual compulsion. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop having compulsive sex. There are no dues or fees for SCA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. SCA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes.

Our primary purpose is to stay sexually sober and to help others to achieve sexual sobriety. Members are encouraged to develop their own sexual recovery plan, and to define sexual sobriety for themselves. We are not here to repress our God-given sexuality, but to learn how to express it in ways that will not make unreasonable demands on our time and energy, place us in legal jeopardy — or endanger our mental, physical or spiritual health.

SCA is a 12-Step fellowship, inclusive of all sexual orientations, open to anyone with a desire to recover from sexual compulsion. We are not group therapy, but a spiritual program that provides a safe environment for working on problems of sexual addiction and sexual sobriety.

There are no requirements for admission to our meetings: anyone having difficulties with sexual compulsion is welcome.
If you are new to the SCA fellowship or curious about recovery from sexual compulsion, welcome!  We cannot maintain our recovery without the ability to share it with others, and your presence here provides us with that opportunity.  We have designed the “For Newcomers” portion of this website to provide you with information about the nature of sexual compulsion, as we understand it, and the SCA approach to recovery.  The links on the left side of the page are designed to be viewed in top-to-bottom order, so start with “Are you sexually compulsive?” and work through “12-step recovery program,” “Meetings,” and “Literature and resources.”  Each link leads to a page of basic information, and links from that page lead to more detailed information, including stories that individual SCA members have written about their experiences with each aspect of the recovery program.  If you decide that this plan of recovery is for you, you have become a member of SCA and may use the “For SCA Members” portion of the website to find face-to-face and online meetings, order literature, view coming events, and read The SCAnner, SCA’s newsletter in the form of a blog.  We wish you well in your recovery.
